Carlsbad Caverns National Park

We did a self-guided tour at Carlsbad Caverns National Park. The tours available change so you should check what tours are offered before you go. It is best to make reservations prior to going using the Recreation.gov app, since the tours can sell out. The self-guided tour was the only tour that was offered when we went.

We took the elevator down about 750 feet which is an exciting and interesting experience. There are a lot of unique formations and features to see. The walkway was easy to navigate. It felt very open and not claustrophobic at all. We stayed in Carlsbad, New Mexico for a couple of days at the TownePlace Suites. We visited and enjoyed The Trinity Restaurant and Yellow Brix while in town. The day after visiting Carlsbad Caverns National Park, we headed to Guadalupe Mountains National Park which is right next to Carlsbad Caverns.
