Hot Springs National Park
Hot Springs National Park is different from many of the national parks since it is in the middle of a town. There are a few trails that are pretty, but what sets this park apart from others is the historic bathhouses. Bathhouse Row has eight bathhouses with beautiful architecture, and you can relax in the warm waters. We enjoyed Quapaw. Superior Bathhouse Brewery is located within the national park and is worth a stop; it is the only brewery in a national park. A benefit of this park being within a town is that there are many places to eat and stay in the area. While this park may not feature the grand beauty of some of the parks of the west, it is still a great and interesting park to visit with a lot of history.
If you are wanting more nature to add to your trip, Mount Magazine is nearby and is a gorgeous park. The park features include beautiful views, cool rock formations, and the highest elevation point in Arkansas.
