Joshua Tree National Park
To visit the Joshua Tree National Park, we split our stays between LaQuinta and Yucca Valley. There are closer towns to the park, but this worked well for us as we were on a vork (vacation and work) trip, so we mostly explored the park on the weekends. We were there in January, and the weather was great.
On the south side of the park, we loved the Cholla Cactus Garden and the Palm Oasis.
In the northern area of the park, we enjoyed Keys View, Cap Rock, Arch Rock (and surrounding trails), and the Discovery Trail. One evening we did a hike near the Black Rock campground that we really liked. The park was busy, but we loved the easy and scenic trails.
After Joshua Tree, we headed to Las Vegas which is one of our favorite cities. Read more on Vegas or read more on our California adventures
