Bryce Canyon National Park and Zion National Park
Bryce Canyon National Park– We had quite an interesting time at Bryce. On our first day, it was sunny with clouds, but it was much colder than we had anticipated. We went to some of the viewpoints, and the views were stunning. It then started hailing so we called it for the day. We were already chilled and not prepared for the cold temperatures. The next day, we woke up, and there was a beautiful blanket of snow over everything. It was magical! Again, it was not the weather we anticipated, and our rental car did not even have a snow scraper. We were not prepared at all for winter weather. This was April 30th/May 1st so it really surprised us! We learned some valuable lessons on this trip which we took in 2019. After we left Bryce, we headed to Zion. Luckily the weather was considerably warmer; we were wearing shorts by the end of the day!
Zion National Park – We spent a couple of days in the park hiking the easier trails. We like hiking, but we often prefer to go on multiple, shorter hikes throughout the day so we can see more of the parks. Our favorites hikes were the Timber Creek Overlook Trail, Watchman Trail, Weeping Rock Trail, Pa’rus Trail, and the Riverside Walk. Most of the trails require a shuttle ride. We stayed at the Springhill Suites in Springdale. There was a shuttle stop across the street which made the process simple, and it is free to ride. There are multiple stops in Springdale and in the park, and you can get on or off at any of the stops. The Kolob Canyons area is gorgeous with overlooks and trails. This area allows cars so you can drive yourself to take in the views. While we were in town, we really enjoyed Zion Canyon Brew Pub, Jack’s Sports Grill, and Cafe Soleil.
To visit Bryce and Zion, we flew in and out of Las Vegas which is one of our favorite places to visit. We spent some time in Vegas before and after our trip. Read more about Las Vegas or read more on our Utah adventures
